Haverfordwest Swimming Club: Guidelines for Online Sessions
The following guidelines define the purpose and acceptable use of online meeting tools (such as Zoom) for engagement with swimmers.
These online tools allow the club to deliver live sessions from home for any reason e.g. unable to meet in person due to illness.

Guidelines
*Parents/Guardians must explain these to junior swimmers and scroll down to give consent
-Any online meeting containing 1 or more swimmers must involve at least 2 adults e.g. a coach and at least one other adult.
-There must not be any 1:1 communication between any swimmer and an adult (a second adult [coach or parent for example] must be included in any swimmer’s communication with another adult).
-If any adult receives 1:1 communication directly from a swimmer, they are not to respond and MUST make a member of the committee aware of the communication. This is so the message can be re-iterated for swimmers not to contact adults 1:1 online.
-No swimmer will be added to any online meeting or group without consent from a parent/guardian. Such consent will be given below.
-All participants of these meetings are reminded to adhere to the Swim Wales Safeguarding policy on the use of Social media sites and Policy on the Use of Mobile Phones and Email. For example: do not show any nudity at all.
-All participants of these meetings are reminded to adhere to the Behaviour Policy as covered by the Swim Wales Code of Conduct, which Coaches, team Staff, Parents and Swimmers must all sign-up to. For example: be kind and polite; no swearing or unkindness.
-Swimmers must be careful to make proper use of these sessions, particularly making sure their language is professional and appropriate to the context of the group at all times.
-Unacceptable language or misuse of the online tools by a group participant will result in them being removed from the session/s pending investigation.
-It is advised that there should be no communication on these tools – particularly those involving swimmers – between the hours of 9pm and 4:30am, unless this has been specifically deemed necessary by the club.
-A swimmer will continue to have access to such online sessions only with the consent of their parent/guardian.
-Parents/guardians are responsible for the safety of junior swimmers. They must ensure a safe environment to participate and provide appropriate hydration for example.
